What is the wait time for new patient’s appointments?

Typically, new patients are scheduled within weeks, however, there could be longer waiting times. Please call us to find out about our next appointment availability.

What Insurances do we take?

We take Aetna, Amerigroup, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Cigna, Culinary, Humana PPO, HPN, Medicare, Medicaid, Senior Dimensions, SmartChoice, Sierra (SHL), UHC PPO, UMR, Tricare, however, this list is subject to change. We are currently working on other private insurances companies to expand our insurance network. Please give us a call to verify coverage with your insurance company.

Do I need a referral to schedule an appointment?

The requirements of your Health Insurance Plan will determine if you need to obtain a referral to our office. Our staff may be able to determine this over the phone, but if you have any questions, it is best to contact your insurance company.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

Your first appointment will be the initial consultation.  You will not be staying overnight in a sleep study center, nor would we do any kind of invasive procedures in the first visit.

Bring your Insurance Card, List of Medications, ID, and medical records. We will spend time going over your symptoms and questions. From this and possibly a few preliminary tests we will determine the need for additional diagnostic tests, or make a recommendation for a treatment program for your condition.

What do I need to bring for my visit? Won’t my referring doctor forward them?

Make sure to bring the following with you to your appointment:

  • Insurance card
  • Photo ID
  • List of Medications
  • Relevant Chest X-Rays or CT scans, if possible bring them in digital form (CD).
  • Name of your preferred pharmacy or medical equipment company.
  • Bring all your medical records, test results that you may have.

It is important to bring all the medical records you may have at your visit. Please call us if you have further questions.

Do I need to bring a disc with my X-rays or CT scans? Won’t the hospital forward them?

A Hospital or Radiology Center will often forward a report, but in order to thoroughly evaluate your condition, our physician needs to view the actual images at the time of your visit. Upon your request, the Hospital’s Radiology Department or Radiology Center can provide it to you in a digital format (CD).

How can I make the most of my visit?

To make the most of your visit, follow these tips:

  • Make a list of all your symptoms and/or concerns prior to your visit.
  • Bring a list of all of the medications you are currently taking, including dosage (this includes over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements).
  • Include information about medications that you have taken and if they worked for you or not. If they didn’t work or if you had problems with them, be sure to inform your doctor.
  • Take a notepad and pen with you to write down any information that the doctor gives you.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask questions. If you forget any questions during your visit, feel free to let us know.
  • Have the doctor explain your treatment options and medications. Ask about any side effects you may experience.
  • Consider bringing a family member or a friend with you if you would like an extra set of eyes and ears.
Where are my lung procedures performed?

We performed a wide variety of lung tests and procedures in our Clinic:

  • Spirometry (measures how good you can exhale)
  • Exercise Oximetry (helps to determine if you qualify for Oxygen supplementation)
  • Six Minute Walk Test
  • Overnight Oximetry (helps to determine if you require Oxygen supplementation at night or if you need a sleep study).
  • Nebulization Treatments

There are other lung procedures performed in the Hospital or a Sleep Center:

  • Bronchoscopy (performed by Dr. Flores)
  • Lung Biopsy (performed by Dr. Flores during bronchoscopy. If you require a CT guided lung biopsy, it will be performed by a Radiologist, and if you need an Open Lung Biopsy, it will be performed by a Chest Surgeon).
  • Thoracenthesis (Performed by a Radiologist)
  • Sleep Study (Performed overnight in a Sleep Center)
  • DLCO (diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide) and TLC (total lung capacity).
How long does it take to get my test results?

This depends on the nature of the test you had performed. At the time of your appointment your provider will tell you when and how to obtain test results. Often, results are discussed at a follow-up appointment. This allows time for discussion and for making a treatment plan.

What should I do if I need a refill of my prescription?

Prescription refills and adjustments to your medications are best addressed at your next clinic visit. However, if you need to refill a prescription prior to your next appointment, please call us or your pharmacy. Please allow up to three business days for the review of your records.

If your insurance company does not approve the prescribed medication, we will send information to the insurance company stating the reason the initial prescribed medication is necessary and ask that an exception be made. Approval of the exception is not guaranteed and may take several weeks.

What if I am running late for my appointment?

Please call our office (702-696-7256) and give us an estimate of your arrival time. We will make every effort to honor your appointment, but in some cases you may need to wait to be seen or reschedule.

Who do I call if I have questions about my bill?
